"THE CHASE:" A free verse poem by FJT

"THE CHASE"

I chase and chase
All that I want lies before me

I reach and grab
All that could be mine, seems so far away

I strain to be achievable
All that makes due, is a profit in sight

I trade time for effort
All that is worthy, seems to escape me

I long for success
All that is gain, comes at a price

I dive head long
All that is at the bottom, comes up to the surface

I hope the end is near
All that can be, will be

I believe in myself
All one has is himself and God

I continue the chase
All that is yours, is within the chase

TEESPRING: T-Shirt For Sale

Teesping is an online t-shirt company. They allow you to sell your designs on their t-shirt. They are quite successful and growing as a company. They treat the sale of t-shirts the way Kickstarter treats crowdfunding as a business model. The company gives you a set limit of time to sell a set limit of t-shirt before it comes to an end. You are allowed to sell more than your goal of course, but you have to reach your established goal in order for the t-shirts to be sent out.

I have been trying to sell my designs on the Teespring platform. I have not been successful as of yet. The reason is that I am still learning how to use Teespring. I am also still learning how to advertise on Facebook. Many of the successful Teespring campaigns are advertise on Facebook. You have to be familiar with how to advertise on Facebook and learn all the nuances involved. For instance, it is recommended that you find a niche audience. They should be passionate about something or someone. They should be motivated to buy because of those passions. A lot more goes into it and I am still learning. I have launched several campaigns, that is what Teespring calls selling items on their platform. I have gotten really good responses from my Facebook ads but no sales as of yet. I have to tweak the product and be more specific on the advertising. That is what my research shows. I am still testing and trying.

I have worked with another online company selling t-shirts. The problem with them is that the cost of the items (t-shirts) were high and the profit margin for me, low. For example, on a t-shirt costing $21.00 dollars, I stand to make 2-3 dollars. It is true that I set the percent mark up. But the product is so costly, a relatively low mark up, prices me out of the market. I generally set my profit percentage at 10% with them. The result is a t-shirt costing over $20.00 and me making 2-3 dollars. On the other hand, Teespring charges about 9 dollars on average for a good, quality t-shirt. I can mark it up 10 dollars and still have a t-shirt priced under 20 dollars. That makes a big difference.

I am treating this as a part-time job/ hobby for now. I hope to make my first sale soon. And if it works out, I can devote more time to it. I am an aspiring author and that is my main focus. But, I am good with words and the t-shirt business seems like a natural extension of what I do. I come up with phrases, sayings and other word play to put on t-shirts. If it works out, I can have another stream of income. IF YOU ARE GOOD WITH WORDS ALSO, YOU SHOULD GIVE TEESPRING A TRY. You can find them at www.teespring.com.
